V International Seminar on Social Policies ISSP_2019
From April 8 to April 11, 2019, Malaga, located in the south of Spain, will host the V International Seminar on Social Policies (ISSP_2019), which aims to become one of the most important meetings for researchers, designers and developers of social policies. In this occasion we are delighted to have the most prestigious academics in politics social, who will show us different perspectives on the topics related to Social Work. This seminar addresses the challenges faced by social services in the face of digital transformation. The Social Work discipline is part of this global and interconnected world, in a society where information and communication technologies (ICT, from now on) more than a decade ago that have ceased to be a novelty, to be part of daily life. Like other inventions and ICT tools have come to stay, affecting the way we produce and live, creating in turn new forms of knowledge. ICTs today are part of everyday life that has introduced relevant social changes in the acceleration of social processes, reduction of distances, modifying forms of interaction and thinking. In these circumstances from the Work Social can not be left out of these technologies and their effects on the ways of living, of being and thinking. In this meeting we want to address, in the first place, the influence of ICT in the practice of Social Work showing existing cases and experiences; Secondly, explore the forms of online and offline intervention from the praxis of organizations of both the civil society as well as public administrations and the business sector; in third place, anticipate scenarios to (re) configure professional practice as well as relationships with people,families, groups and communities goals.
- Learn about the use of ICTs in the daily interventions of social workers.
- Reflect on the relationship and imbrication between social work and ICT, i.e. e-Social Work
- Explore professional spaces, both online and offline actions in support of people and
collective.
- Review the training of future professionals in ICT matters and their influence within the scope
university and professional.
- Reflect on professional ethics and ICT.
Experts from the University of Berkeley, California and from different european universities will analyze
and will discuss the main challenges of social policies, the different responses that are
implemented in different contexts, placing special emphasis on good practices that
Social Work professionals develop in their respective organizations.

The format chosen for the development of the program is that of the International Symposium open to
communications of researchers. Its duration reaches 25 hours, distributed over four days (8 to
April 11, 2019). It is intended to develop 2 sessions, the opening and the closing, in the Faculty
of Social and Labor Studies while the two intermediate sessions will be held in the Green Ray Building. Link by UMA, because the theme of the Seminar, the intersection of technology and society, is very suitable to place it in this space.
COMMUNICATIONS
Communications will be analyzed and may be accepted. Those selected among the five
The first ones will be presented and discussed during the Seminar. Communications must be
sent in APAVI Edition format. The articles must be delivered in English.
Format: title (English); Keywords (English); Summary (1000 words, in
English); Text of the communication (can not exceed 4,500 words). The
definitive version of the communication may be delivered the week
following the Seminar.
Abstracts of communications must be submitted before March 1, 2019 through the section "Communications" created on the page Web.
On March 20, 2019, the organization of the Seminar will communicate to the
authors if their communications have been accepted and if they proceed
presented and discussed during the Seminar.
POST-SEMINAR PUBLICATION
The best communications may be published in scientific journals or in monographs of
prestigious publishers.

The Seminar will be held at the Faculty of Social and Labor Studies of the University of
Malaga.

LOCATION
Malaga, is one of the most cosmopolitan provinces of Spain and has become one of the
preferred locations for all kinds of congresses, conferences and seminars, both national
as international. Our visitors value the warmth and hospitality of a province of
Malaga that has 1,630,615 inhabitants (INE, 2017) and one of the most dynamic universities
in Spain. Again, after the success of the previous year, in this second edition, one of the main
objectives is for this Seminar to become an annual reference event for social activities,
Meeting with international academics and colleagues. The point and followed will be to create a
thematic network from which to share experiences. The official language of the Seminar will be English. With Regarding the scientific contents, in this seminar contributions will be accepted in all the
areas of Social Policies, Welfare State and Social Work.
REGISTRATION
All participants must register via the Registration section on the website from 1 March to April 1, 2019.
Contributions must be sent in the format specified before April 1, 2019 to the

The seminar will be free.
SCIENTIFIC SCHEDULE
The program will include conferences of foreign and national researchers with whom the
participants will be able to dialogue after their interventions and spaces of exchange on experiences
related, such as round tables and open communication desks. All this is planned

DISSEMINATION AND RESULTS
For the diffusion of the project a web, a blog and profiles in virtual social networks will be enabled. They will be nourished by the contents of the participating academics. In the dynamization of the members of the organizing committee will participate. It is planned that academics leave short recordings as an advance of your participation. To give advertising they will share news on the institutional websites of the participating universities as well as announcements advertising in newspapers of national circulation. A report will be made with interviews to the academics in the main local newspaper. It will also be disseminated through the websites of the associations and professional associations linked to the discipline of Social Work.
In order to achieve greater international notoriety, the collaboration of the University of Berkeley, in this dissemination section. Within the framework of the Campus of International Excellence of Andalucía Tech and the Memorandum of Understandig (MOU) between UC Berkeley and the University of Málaga and fruit of the collaboration maintained in the last four years between the School of Social Welfare of UC Berkeley and the Social Work Area attached to the Faculty of Social Studies and Work of the University of Malaga, through the exchange of researchers and the realization of international seminars, we intend to go one step further to take advantage of the synergies of the network already established by signing a collaboration agreement between both faculties and areas for
give continuity to these activities.
Results to be achieved
These results are contemplated:
1) Scientific publication in an international impact editorial according to the Journal Citation index Report or in a prestigious editorial according to the Scholarly Publishers ranking.
2) Generation of thematic network between the School of Social Welfare of UC Berkeley and the Area of Social Work of the University of Malaga, that favor exchanges of mobility between researchers, professors and doctoral students of both universities.
